JEE Mains Exam Paper Pattern 2025
JEE main is the entry-level exam for admission to engineering college, and its difficulty level is moderate. The exam comprises of two papers. The first paper has physics, chemistry, and mathematics which allows you to get admission in the IITs, NITs, and CFTIs participating through the Central Seat Allocation Board. Whereas the second paper is for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning.
JEE Mains Paper 1
The JEE Paper 1 is for admission to B.Tech and B.E. courses. The paper has the following features:

It consists of multiple choice questions to be answered by Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only in the allotted exam centre.

The time duration of the exam is 3 hrs. The total number of questions is 30 for each subject.

Each subject is divided into two sections. ‘Section A’ will be a multiple choice whereas for ‘Section B’ you have to fill in the numerical value. You need to attend only 5 questions from section B.

For each correct answer, you will get +4 marks whereas for a wrong answer, a mark (-1) will be deducted from the score. Both sections have negative markings.

JEE Mains Paper 2
The JEE mains Paper 2 is composed of two sections 2A for B.Arch. and 2B for B.Planning.
Paper 2A:

It is a computer-based test (CBT) for mathematics and aptitude tests, whereas pen and paper for the drawing section. The exam is conducted at the allotted exam centre by the NTA.
