JEE Mains 2025: Tie-breaking Policy Overview
NTA has revised the JEE Mains 2025 tie-breaking policy and removed the age comparison and application number used for ranking the candidates whenever a tie occurs. Below you can find the detailed tie-breaking criteria for JEE Mains 2025:
- Score in Mathematics: A higher rank is provided to the candidate who scored more marks in mathematics.
- Score in Physics: If the tie persists, the candidate who scores more in Physics will be given priority.
- Score in Chemistry: If the tie remains unresolved, the candidate who scores more in Chemistry is ranked higher.
- Correct to Incorrect Ratio in All Subjects: For further tie-breaking, the candidates who score a lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers are considered.
- Correct to Incorrect Ratio in Mathematics: If the tie remains, the ratio of incorrect to correct answers in mathematics is considered.
- Correct to Incorrect Ratio in Physics: If the tie persists, the ratio of incorrect answers to correct answers in Physics is considered. The lower ratio will rank higher.
- Correct to Incorrect in Ration in Chemistry: If the tie remains, the lower ratio of incorrect to correct answer will rank higher.
After considering all the tie-breaking parameters if the tie remains unresolved the same rank will be awarded to the candidates who score the same marks. The policy is fair for the deserving candidates as it provides ranking based on the marks only.
