MBBS
seats in India through NEET are scarce, and competition is intense. There are
no admission tests in India for MBBS seats, apart from NEET, and one might need
to attend the NEET Class in Pune to
crack the exam. Annually, the central board of secondary education conducts
NEET for all India MBBS spots.
NEET has 83,075 MBBS seats, 26,949 BDS seats, 50,720 AYUSH seats, and 525 B.VSc & AH
seats. The estimates for MBBS seats in government colleges available through
NEET 2021 were compiled using MCI and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
(MoHFW) information.
As per
the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the
Board of Governors, 10% of seats have been reserved for Economically Weaker
Sections (EWS) across all the government colleges.
There is
an addition of 5200 EWS seats within every state to boost an individuals chances of getting
admission. The largest government MBBS seats are in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil
Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

Government MBBS seats through NEET 2021
All MBBS
spots offered in governmental medical centres are divided into AQI and state
quotas. Every MBBS government institution has 15% of its seats earmarked for
All India Quota (AQI) seats, wherein the Medical Counselling Committee conducts
the counselling (MCC). The remaining 85 per cent
of the state quota seats are allocated to domicile applicants of the specific
state who meet the eligibility conditions. Only medical candidates who qualify
the required NEET percentile are eligible for admission into colleges.
