Documents and Things to Carry for NEET Exam 2025
You’ve studied hard, solved mock tests, and revised your NCERT books over and over again. But imagine this: you reach the exam center, and you’re stopped at the gate—all because you forgot a small but important document. 😰
Sounds scary, right? That’s why being fully prepared with the documents required for NEET and things to carry is just as important as your exam prep.
In this blog, I’ll give you a simple, student-friendly checklist of everything you need to carry for NEET 2025, so you walk into that exam hall with confidence, not confusion.
Let’s dive in and make sure you’re all set for exam day!
Documents required for NEET 2025

These are compulsory, not optional, so carry them without fail:
NEET admit card 2025
- Print a clear copy (color or black & white).
- Download it from the official NTA NEET website.
- Comes with a self-declaration form (for COVID or health-related declaration).
- Make sure all details like your photo and signature are visible.
Passport-size photograph
- Carry 1 or 2 passport-size photos.
- Size: 4 cm x 6 cm
- It should be the same photo you uploaded in your NEET application.
- You’ll need to paste it on the attendance sheet.
The photograph should be either in colour or black and white with 80 per cent face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background.
Postcard-size photograph
- Size: 4 inch x 6 inch (NOT the same as passport-size)
- This is usually required during the application process — it must be uploaded online and sometimes also brought to the exam center.
Always carry both photo types (passport & postcard), printed on glossy paper, with a white background, and ensure the photo is recent (not older than 3 months).
Valid ID proof (any one)
You must carry any one original (not photocopy):
- Aadhaar Card
- PAN Card
- Voter ID
- Passport
- Driving License
- School ID (only if you don’t have the above and are in Class 12)
PwD certificate (if applicable)
- Only for students in the PwD category.
- Must be from a recognized authority.

Other important things to carry in NEET exam

Apart from documents, take these with you:
Black ballpoint pen
- Even though the exam center gives pens, it’s safe to carry 1-2 extras.
- Use only black ballpoint pens.
Transparent water bottle
- Small and label-free.
- Helps you stay hydrated during the exam.
Face mask and hand sanitizer
- COVID-19 precautions are still recommended.
- Carry a mask and a small bottle of sanitizer (50 ml).
What not to carry (items strictly prohibited)

Avoid carrying any of these, if you don’t want to let your exam day end at the security gate.

❌ 10th mark sheet or certificates
❌ Mobile phones, earphones, smartwatches, fitness bands
❌ Wallets, handbags, belts, caps
❌ Study material, books, notes, rough papers
❌ Food or drinks (unless you have a medical reason)
❌ Any metallic items or electronic gadgets
Tips for a stress-free NEET exam day

Stressed about exam day? Don’t be! Here are some simple yet powerful tips to help you stay calm, focused, and fully prepared.
The night before
- Sleep early – give your brain enough rest.
- Pack your bag with all essentials (documents, ID, photos, etc.).
- Avoid last-minute cramming — trust your preparation!
On exam morning
- Eat a light, balanced breakfast – don’t skip your meal.
- Take blessing from your elders and god.
- Reach the center 30–45 minutes early – gates close on time, no late entries!
- Paste your photos and sign your admit card (Page 1 and Page 3) before reaching. Don’t expect glue or tape at the center.
- Carry a transparent water bottle – stay hydrated, but avoid excess intake.
- No toilet/bio breaks are allowed during the first 1 hour and last 30 minutes, so plan ahead.
During exam entry
- Bring 1 extra passport-size photo (same as in your application).
- PwD candidates must carry their valid disability certificate.
- Carry a valid original government ID proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, etc.).
Note: Avoid discussing questions or topics right outside the exam hall — it can create panic and confusion, which might lead to silly mistakes and negative marking in your NEET exam.
